WANTED - 13C

We are looking for a Rudy 13C trumpet mouthpiece similar to the 17M shown here --> 17M shaped mouthpiece.  If you have one of these please email admin@rudymuck.info and let us know what you have.  Thank you very much!

Did you Know?

Maynard Ferguson started out playing on a modified Rudy Mück mouthpiece?  Word has it  that he had the mouthpiece cut down some and used it for years in the early part of his playing career!

We got an email from Sherwood Finley who said,

"Hi, great site. I play the 17c trumpet piece. Maynard did use a Rudy Mück and i have a photo of him [ taken in 1948 ] which clearly shows that he's using Rudy's pieces on both trumpet and trombone. The configuration is the same as today’s "Second Generation". By the way, this photo was in the NYBC when the tribute to Maynard was done in NYC."

If you happen to have a scan of this photo in high resolution, we'd sure like to get a copy.  Thank you!

Brief History
( most common account found - is it accurate? )

Rudy was a professional trumpet player in New York City during the 1920's and 1930's. He operated in New York City from 1930-1950.

Born 1907 in Moravia and trained by his father as a Brass repairman. Came to the US in 1911. established company in 1930 and built Custom rim mouthpieces starting in 1932. Appears that Carl Fisher bought out in the 1950's?

Rudy Mück worked with Vincent Bach but opened a shop right next door to the Bach NY factory and with the help of Vincent Bach, built the Rudy Mück Citation.
